FlashBox external memory module

Overview

The FlashBox is a small portable device that logs and stores vehicle activities together with vehicle control input changes (ignition on/off etc) when interfaced to one of the CES's current mobile devices (TRK-240, GPS-150 or GPS-210).

The reports can be accumulated at very frequent intervals (measured in seconds) over extended periods and analyzed when downloaded to provide detailed vehicle movement and activity intelligence.

The FlashBox has the capability of storing thousands of such records providing more specific route data by being able to record information more frequently than the typical five to fifteen minute updates of a real time system.

When the data is downloaded, the FlashBox software provides the capability to calculate vehicle events: Vehicle Stops, Vehicle Starts, Bearing/direction Changes and two levels of Speed Exceptions.

Coupled with the CES Wireless Power-trak software's reporting capabilities on these events , a detailed analysis of the route taken can be made and can assist in the evaluation of the driver's performance.

     Operation

In operation the FlashBox plugs into one of the CES's current mobile devices (TRK-240, GPS-150 or GPS-210) to enhance and extend the data logging and reporting capability. Once the data is accumulated in the FlashBox it can be easily removed from the vehicle (as required) and downloaded to a computer for review. The data can be downloaded into text files or into the database files for CES's popular software product Power-trak.

Once in Power-trak the entire route of the vehicle can be replayed. If utilizing FlashBoxes in multiple vehicles the FlashBox software provides the capability to batch process the data that was downloaded into text files. Thus, after downloading thousands of records from each vehicle in your fleet, you can process this data into the database files all at once. The FlashBox software also provides the capability to calculate events: Stops, Starts, Bearing Changes and two levels of Speed Exceptions. The Power-trak software's reporting capabilities on these events allow for detailed analysis of the route taken and can assist in the evaluation of the driver's performance.

    Data Storage

FlashBox is available with up to 16Mb of data storage (1, 4, 8, 16Mb). For example, if data is required to be recorded every two seconds, the 16Mb option provides the capability of storing 273067 records or enough memory for almost 9 days activity operating 14 hours a day. If data is recorded every 10 seconds, and the vehicle operates 8 hours every day, enough memory is provided for almost 76 days operating.
